We’ve all come across people in our lives, we think of as “jerks”. Have you ever called someone a jerk — to their face, or while complaining to someone else, or on social media?
Can you remember that feeling — the feeling you felt when you referred to that person as a “jerk”? Was it a good feeling? Chances are it didn’t feel good at all; and you felt that the bad feelings you were experiencing were the result of that person’s actions.
What if you could change that? What if you could take back control of your own experiences? Now you can!

What Makes Someone a Jerk?
Not everyone has the same idea of what a jerk is. You may consider someone a jerk, or find their behavior offensive; but someone else may experience the same person and the same behavior, and not be bothered by it.
In the same way, some people may think of a certain person as a jerk, yet you may not be bothered by them at all.
The Truth About Jerks
No matter what anyone does, they cannot make you feel something unless you allow it. This includes jerks! Your emotional reaction is the result of internal representations, associations and links. The body responds to these by creating chemicals. So, who is the jerk? Interestingly, it’s ourselves. It’s our own references. And it all happens inside the brain and body.
Since you cannot change other people, the only choices you have are:
- continue to be at the mercy of the jerk, or
- change your own experience of the jerk
Changing the data held in your subconscious — the records your subconscious is referring to — is the most effective way to achieve natural and automatic results. For more information on how these records are created, and how they affect daily life, read: The REAL Cause of All Your Problems and What Determines Your Character and Personality.
Think about the jerk, what they did, and how you felt. Notice how you know they’re a jerk. Notice how that feels inside you. Think back to when you’ve experienced that same feeling before. Then, use the FasterEFT technique to address those memories and flip them. If you can’t remember feeling those feelings in the past, use FasterEFT to address what you do know — in this moment.
For a detailed guide on how to use FasterEFT, read: The FasterEFT Technique — Step-by-Step.
